Physical verification of dev projects: UP sends 75 IAS officers to 75 dists
Lucknow, May 23 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has sent 75 IAS officers from the rank of secretary to special secretary to 75 districts to make physical verification of the development projects.
The officers have been sent to the districts on the instruction of chief minister Yogi Adityanath, said an officer and added that they will review the progress of the projects above Rs 50 crore outlay, including the Har Ghar Nal scheme, run under the Jal Jeevan Mission, Gau-Ashray Sthal (cow shelters) and major construction works launched in the districts.
Nodal officers have been directed to reach the allotted district by Friday evening. They will make a physical verification of the various development projects on May 24 and 25 and submit their report to the state government on May 26.
Chief secretary Manoj Kumar Singh on Thursday held a meeting with the nodal officers nominated for the 75 districts through video conferencing.
He told the officers that the government has decided to nominate nodal officers for all districts to know the ground reality of development projects. They will also collect feedback from the public over the progress of the projects, he said.
The nodal officers should inspect the projects in an impartial and transparent manner so that the actual status of development works can be accurately assessed, the chief secretary said....
