PGI convocation today, 417 to get degrees
Lucknow, Sept. 16 -- The Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow, is set to hold its Convocation Ceremony on Tuesday during which 417 students will be awarded degrees and 17 outstanding individuals will be honoured for their exceptional academic and research achievements.
Degrees will be awarded to students in various categories, who have successfully completed their DM/M.Ch/PDAF /PhD /MD /PDCC, MHA and BSc and MSc(Nursing), BSc and MSc(Medical Technology). This year 417 students are being conferred the degrees in different categories (Year 2023- 2024 and 2024-2025 as the convocation is taking place after one year gap). This year the Institute will award 17 PhDs for research work, 52 DM, 25 MCh, 41 MD, 2 MS, 16 PDAF, 82 PDCC, 3 MHA, 27 MSc (CMT), 4 MSc (Nursing), 67 BSc (CMT), and 79 BSc (Nursing) candidates.
Additionally, 17 faculty members/residents will be acknowledged for their contribution towards excellence in research or clinical activities.
Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Visitor of the Institute, Anandiben Patel will preside over the ceremony and confer degrees and awards to graduating and meritorious students. Brajesh Pathak, deputy chief minister and minister for Medical Education, Health, and Family Welfare; Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Medical Education, Health, and Family Welfare; and Deepak Kumar, IAS, Acting Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh and President, SGPGI will also be present.
