PDA to sell off 600 flats post facelift, cost revision
PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 12 -- The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) is all set to launch a fresh initiative for selling its remaining nearly 600 unsold independent houses and flats in different residential housing colonies as well as several multi-storied apartments located in different parts of the city.
According to vice-chairman of the development authority Amit Pal Sharma, the development authority had sold around 100 such unsold flats earlier this year, generating a revenue of around Rs 40 crore.
"We recently sold off nearly 100 flats of 2BHK and 3BHK category earlier this year. The allotment of the flats was done through a lottery system.
The initiative generated around Rs 40 crore revenue. Now we are preparing to sell off the remaining nearly 600 unsold independent houses and flats in different housing schemes and apartments of PDA," he said.
As per Sharma, the process for selling off these unsold residential accommodations had already commenced with giving them a facelift besides advertisement for its sale and inviting of applications for the same would be done by end of this year.
He further said that since the location of these unsold residential accommodations in different housing colonies of PDA now have much better connectivity infrastructure besides lighting arrangements than when it was constructed over a couple of decades back, the costing of the flats to be offered for sale would also be revised in accordance with the 2019 government order.
The unsold residential accommodations are mostly located in Kalindipuram, Naini, Shantipuram, Jhunsi, Pipalgaon, Jhalwa, Sulem Sarai, Mehendauri, etc localities of the city.
Further, the PDA is also carrying out its land audit for assessing its acquired land, lying vacant in different parts of the city, for its future housing projects.
As per the PDA vice chairman, once the process of land audit was completed, houses for lower to middle income groups would be constructed on it.
It may be mentioned that owing to several private builders jumping into the fray for providing affordable housing options to consumers in Sangam city in the past over two decades, many housing projects of PDA had suffered a dent owing to its comparatively inferior design, quality of construction and location over the years....
