PDA pitch: UP BJP chief takes dig at SP
Lucknow, March 26 -- Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, dismissing the SP's PDA pitch as a "parivar (family) development authority" aimed at promoting dynastic politics, rather than social justice.
Chaudhary said those opposing bulldozer action were linked to the mafia and rioters, asserting that such drives targeted criminals and land grabbers, not the poor.
"Uttar Pradesh today has rule of law, and action against criminals is what irks the SP," he said in a written statement issued to the media.
Accusing the SP of presiding over "jungle raj," he claimed backward classes, Dalits and minorities suffered most during its tenure.
"For SP, family comes first, party later and people last," he alleged.
He added that the Opposition party should prepare for a prolonged stint out of power, as voters had rejected casteism and dynastic politics and would back development and governance again in 2027....
