PRAYAGRAJ, June 30 -- The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) has initiated a land audit to assess the availability of land for upcoming projects, including residential colonies and high rise apartments. According to PDA vice chairman Dr Amit Pal Sharma, the development authority has planned several housing projects, and a land audit is currently underway across all six zones of the city to facilitate these developments. "We have planned to construct around 700 flats over the next few years for the lower and middle-income groups in the city. These will include one-bedroom and two-bedroom units, which will be offered to applicants at affordable rates," he said. As per the PDA vice chairman, all the zonal officers have been directed to assess the availability of land suitable for the construction of houses and high rise apartments. The proposed area for the construction of flats should have proper connectivity, approach roads and it should not be within 500 meters of the highest flood level. Also, the zonal officers have been directed to ensure that the land was free from encroachments and disputes. It may be mentioned that the PDA earlier known as Allahabad Development Authority (ADA) has since its inception around four decades ago constructed nearly two dozen housing schemes including high rise apartments, most of the accommodations in which have been sold out. However, in view of rising population pressure, the development authority was planning to construct 700 more flats in the next few years....
