Haridwar, Dec. 6 -- The state forest department and the Landsowne cantonment board have deployed a joint patrol team at Landsowne after reports of a bear spotting emerged in the area, officials said on Friday. "Our joint patrolling teams are providing security, patrolling bear- affected areas and guard the cantonment township residents and nearby villages.Local residents are being instructed to refrain from moving alone particularly during dawn and dusk," said range officer Rakesh Shah. Notably, bears have reportedly been spotted by residents and captured in CCTV at the garbage treatment plant, Valmiki colony and LPG godown.
