LUCKNOW, May 24 -- The CT scan machine at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (Civil) Hospital has been non-operational for a few days, patients alleged on Friday. The hospital caters to 2,500 to 3,000 patients daily. However, chief medical superintendent (CMS) Rajesh Srivastava, however, claimed the CT scan machine developed a fault on Friday and will be repaired soon."The machine has a tube-related issue. Engineers have already inspected it, and it should be operational by tomorrow," he said. Several patients who visited the hospital on Friday confirmed that they were unable to get their tests done due to unavailability of CT scan. Some patients were asked to come back another day. Others, who required an urgent CT scan report, had to approach private diagnostic centres. "We have come from far-off places in hope of getting proper treatment, "said one patient. "There is no shortage of money, but timely repair and upkeep of equipment is still a major issue," a person familiar with the matter said.htc...
