Patient falls from OT block roof of cancerinstt, dies
LUCKNOW, June 28 -- A 45-year-old patient died after falling from the third-floor roof of the OT block at the Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute and Hospital (KSSSCI) here on Friday, said police.
The patient, Dadu Ram, a resident of Banda, was suffering from brain tumour. He visited the SGPGI on June 19, where he was advised an MRI. On Friday, he again visited the institute with his reports, from where he was referred to the Kalyan Singh Superspeciality Hospital. He reached the hospital around 5:30 pm and was informed at the registration counter that the doctor will be available the next morning at the OPD, said officials.
Meanwhile, the patient disappeared, leaving his attendants who tried to search for him. Around 6pm, Dadu Ram managed to reach the OT complex roof from where he reportedly fell down. He was rushed to the hospital emergency, where he was declared brought dead. The body was handed over to the police for post-mortem examination. Police arrived at the scene and initiated the inquest proceedings, they said. "How the patient reached the roof and fell is being probed," stated Dr Gaurav Singh, spokesperson of the hospital....
