LUCKNOW, Aug. 26 -- Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak here on Monday criticised Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, accusing him of insulting Hindu sentiments and disregarding India's ancient traditions. Pathak said Yadav's remarks on Hindu deities and astrology amount to a mockery of Lord Hanuman and Hindu beliefs, reflecting his ignorance of cultural heritage. He further alleged that the Samajwadi Party had opposed the Ram temple construction and attempted to obstruct it in court. Defending the state government's bulldozer action, Pathak said it represents a strong resolve to act against criminals and mafia. He also charged the previous Samajwadi Party regime with corruption in education, claiming the present BJP government has ensured transparency in recruitment.
