Passenger misbehaves with UP MLA mid-air; latter lodges complaint
Lucknow, Oct. 1 -- A heated mid-air altercation disrupted Air India flight AI-837 from Delhi to Lucknow after a passenger allegedly misbehaved with Amethi's Gauriganj MLA, Rakesh Pratap Singh. The incident reportedly stemmed from the flight's delay and escalated into verbal abuse and a near-physical confrontation.
The flight, which was delayed by nearly an hour, arrived in Lucknow in the afternoon. According to the complaint, the MLA was seated in seat 4E, while the accused passenger - identified as Samad Ali, reportedly returning from abroad - was seated next to him in 4D.
Witnesses say that Samad Ali became agitated over the delay and began shouting and using abusive language.
When fellow passengers, including the MLA, tried to calm him down, he allegedly turned aggressive and attempted to get physical.
Cabin crew intervened quickly and moved the unruly passenger to a rear seat. However, the abuse reportedly continued throughout the flight.
Upon landing in Lucknow, MLA Rakesh Pratap Singh filed a written complaint at the Sarojini Nagar police station, for creating a ruckus and attempting physical assault. htc...
