Panel rules against LDA as officials remain no-show
LUCKNOW, May 18 -- Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) lost a property-related consumer dispute after its officials failed to appear before the commission, prompting vice chairman Prathamesh Kumar to suspend a junior clerk and issue a show-cause notice on deputy secretary Atul Krishna Singh of the Gomti Nagar Property Section, LDA said in a note.
LDA Additional Secretary Gyanendra Verma said the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission-2 passed an ex-parte order on April 15, 2025, in favour of complainant Mohd. Naseem.
He had filed complaint number 256/2024 regarding a property located in Vineet Khand, Gomti Nagar. Despite being informed in advance, LDA officials did not present any defence in the case, the note stated.
Verma said that the Law Section had nominated Advocate Shruti Sahu to represent the Authority and had informed the Gomti Nagar Property Section via a letter dated July 12, 2024. However, the employees concerned ignored the communication.
No one appeared before the commission on the scheduled date, leading to a one-sided decision against LDA, said in the press release.
Also, Kumar appointed LDA Nazul officer Prabhakar Singh as the investigating officer to conduct a detailed probe and prepare a charge sheet.
Kumar directed the legal team to file an appeal before the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission against the district commission's verdict....
