PAC jawan, two others arrested for looting Hathras trader
Agra, Jan. 8 -- Three people, including a PAC jawan, were arrested for allegedly looting a trader from Hathras after he got down at Mathura railway station on Tuesday. One more PAC jawan is suspected to be involved in the crime and is absconding along with other accused. Police recovered 2.452 kilogram silver, Rs 60,000 from those arrested.
"The incident took place on Tuesday when a trader got down from a train coming from Chindwada and then left Mathura railway station to take a cab home to Hathras. Three of the accused, including a PAC jawan in uniform, caught hold of him and tried to force him into a car blaming him of being involved in narcotics' trade. However, the trader managed to resist the force, but the three looted the bag," said SSP Mathura Shlok Kumar.
"On information, police got active and three people, including a PAC jawan, were arrested. This PAC jawan, identified as Narendra Kumar, was posted in Agra with the PAC, while the two others arrested, Rohit and Gopal Krishna, were from the same village from which the trader came from, in Hathras, and were aware of the trader's movements," he said. "Police has recovered 2.452 kg silver, Rs 60,000 and the car used by the accused. A case which was registered against the accused under section 309(4) (robbery) initially had section 310(2)/317(2) BNS and Arms Act," he said.
"Two others involved are yet to be nabbed and include another PAC jawan. In regard to the arrested PAC jawan, Narendra Kumar, recommendation for strict action has been made to authorities and speedy trial is to be ensured to get accused in uniform punished," said Kumar....
