LUCKNOW, April 30 -- A broken overhead cable triggered an electric short circuit that caused a fire, which rapidly spread to adjoining shops in Naveen Galla Mandi (grain market), on Sitapur Road, on Tuesday, the fire department said. "While no casualties were reported, the fire resulted in significant damage to multiple fruit shops and also scorched several trees in the vicinity," said Shatrughan, fire station officer, Indira Nagar. "Two fire engines from Indira Nagar, along with personnel and the fstation officer (FSO), were immediately dispatched," said chief fire officer (CFO), Mangesh Kumar. Simultaneously, units from Chowk and Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) fire stations also rushed to the scene. Firefighters found a fruit shop, a closed tea stall, and a nearby tree already in flames. Local residents were attempting to douse the fire. "Firefighters quickly deployed hose pipes to control the blaze, and soon after, additional teams from Chowk and BKT joined the operation," said the FSO. "Prima facie, the fire originated from Himanshu Shukla's fruit shop and spread to Daddu's closed tea canteen due to the overhead cable fault," the FSO added in a press note....
