PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 10 -- After 24 hours of raid, Manikpur police recovered over Rs 2 crore cash and drugs from the house of drug mafia Rajesh Mishra in Mundipur, Manikpur in Pratapgarh. Five people, including the gangster's wife, daughter, and son, were arrested and sent to jail after the raid. As per reports, Reena Mishra, wife of drug mafia Rajesh Mishra, is accused of committing fraud to secure her husband's bail. She had asked for testimonials of a resident of the same area along with his land papers for getting him a better deal. However, she submitted the testimonials of the person, without his consent and knowledge, including his Aadhar Card and land papers in court for securing bail of her husband Rajesh Mishra presently in jail. When the police called the man for verification, he denied having given his documents for bail of Rajesh Mishra. After registering a case, the police arrived at the house of drug mafia in Pratapgarh on Saturday morning at around 8am. When the police opened the door, they found five people attempting to conceal drugs in black plastic bags. Police searched the area and found sacks filled with money. A subsequent search operation was launched, and money was found scattered throughout the house, including an old house located adjacent to Mishra's residence. Police teams collected the loose cash consisting of currency notes of Rs 5, Rs 10, Rs 20, Rs 50 and Rs 100 and made bundles. The large cache of currency notes was counted through counting machines which amounted to Rs 2,01, 55,345. The counting took approximately 24 hours due to the folded notes. Additionally, 6.75kg of ganja besides 75 grams of marijuana and 577 grams of heroin were recovered from his home. Rajesh Mishra's wife Reena, son Vinayak, daughter Komal, neighbors Yash Mishra, and Ajit Kumar Mishra, who were involved in the drug trade, have been arrested and sent to jail. SP Pratapgarh Deepak Bhukar said that Rajesh Mishra, a resident of Mundipur in Manikpur, who was in jail, had tried to secure his bail through his wife. The wife in turn had submitted the property papers of a person living near her. After the incident, drug mafia's wife, Reena Mishra, who had used the papers of a man from the same village without latter's knowledge was caught in the fraud and sent to jail. htc...
