Over 72 hrs on, 3 of 5 accused still at large
LUCKNOW, Oct. 14 -- More than three days after a 16-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly gang-raped by five men in Lucknow's Banthra area, the police have so far arrested two of the accused while the remaining remain at large.
"Lalit Kashyap and Miraj have been taken into custody. The former sustained a leg injury during a brief encounter with the police late on Saturday night. Both are being interrogated, while searches for the other accused named in the FIR - Chhotu, Babu and Vishal - continue," said DCP (South Zone) Nipun Agarwal.
Authorities said police teams were conducting raids across Harauni and Banthra, using mobile surveillance and local intelligence, to track the fugitives....
