Over 25 million devotees flock to UP during Sawan
LUCKNOW, Aug. 13 -- Over 25 million devotees visited key religious sites across the state during the month of Sawan. Throughout the month-long observance of Sawan, this year's number of devotees surged well beyond previous years' figures. Barabanki's Lodheswar Mahadev Temple drew nearly 1.2 million devotees, with 300,000 arriving every Monday. Baghpat's Sawan Mela saw approximately 1.4 million visitors, including a single-day spike of 500,000 people on Mondays. Gola Gokaran Nath Temple in Lakhimpur Kheri registered between 800,000 and 1 million visitors. Over 100,000 kanwariyas carried Ganga water from Garhmukteshwar Ghat in Hapur....
