LUCKNOW, June 1 -- The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) vice chairman Prathamesh Kumar has directed that action on construction-related complaints be taken only after thorough on-site investigations, following the discovery that 28 individuals filed 2,114 complaints in the last 17 months. Officials informed that the detailed scrutiny of grievances submitted through the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) portal between January 2024 and May 30, 2025, revealed this unusually high volume of complaints from a small group. The decision came after reports that genuine home builders were being repeatedly targeted with false complaints. During monthly Janta Adalats and public hearings, several residents accused a group of habitual complainants of harassing those constructing homes through bank loans and personal savings. The group allegedly demands money and, when refused, files continuous complaints with the LDA and other authorities, according to the officials.
