Over 1 cr saplings to be planted in Varanasi circle
VARANASI, July 2 -- Over 1 crore saplings will be planted in three districts of Varanasi circle under a mega plantation drive beginning from Tuesday, said forest officials on Tuesday.
Of these 1.1 crore saplings, 50 lakh plants will be planted in Jaunpur. As part of this environmental protection campaign, 27 government departments will actively participate in the plantation drive.
Forest conservator of Varanasi circle, Dr Ravi Kumar Singh stated that there is a plan to plant over 1 crore 10 lakh 9 thousand saplings across three districts of the Varanasi Circle, including Varanasi, Ghazipur, Jaunpur.
As per plan, saplings of drumstick, peepal, pakkad, banyan, arjun, jamun, amla, guava, mango, teak, sheesham and other species will be planted. htc...
