Outsourced Services Corpn a ploy to scrap quota: Mata Prasad
GORAKHPUR, July 27 -- Leader of Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh assembly Mata Prasad Pandey on Saturday alleged that the formation of an Outsourced Services Corporation by the state government is a deliberate attempt to abolish the reservation system for Dalits and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in government services. He urged people to protect the Constitution to safeguard their right to reservations in government jobs.
Pandey was addressing a public gathering at a marriage lawn in Gorakhpur. The senior Samajwadi Party leader emphasised that as long as the Constitution survives, reservation will remain intact. He described the Constitution as both a shield and armour for the underprivileged.
Pandey claimed that the PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) alliance has gained strong support in rural areas, particularly among backward and most backward communities. This trend, he said, would be evident in the panchayat elections.
The SP veteran also said Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav is the future of Uttar Pradesh, praising him for advocating reservation, social justice and the empowerment of weaker sections.
