Order to confiscate property of SP acting dist chief
PRAYAGRAJ, May 1 -- The district magistrate, Pratapgarh, has issued orders for attaching properties worth around Rs 7 crore of Samajwadi Party (SP) acting district president Gulshan Yadav under provisions of Gangsters' Act. Yadav has 53 criminal cases registered against him including those of serious crimes like robbery, attempt to murder, arson and property grabbing.
According to SP, Pratapgarh, Anil Kumar, the 53 cases registered against Yadav, a resident of Maudara under Manikpur police station, are in different police stations of the district
The police solved the double murder case of elderly couple in ADA Colony which occurred on Monday evening. A mason who used to work at the deceased couple's house killed the elderly couple by hitting them on the head with a hammer after the deceased did not pay his dues of Rs 20,000.
After committing the double murder, the accused mason locked the main gate of the house and fled. Naini police arrested the accused on Wednesday near Bhartiya Jeevan Bima Hospital Cheoki culvert through CCTV footage and surveillance. The hammer used in the murder has also been recovered.
DCP (Trans Yamuna) Vivek Chandra Yadav, said that the mason, Shyambabu, had also taken the mobile of the elderly couple with him. He did not switch off the mobile phone and had thrown it in the bushes in Cheoki which made the police trace its location as well as the location of the accused.
The Vigilance team caught a Chakbandi officer redhanded taking a bribe of Rs 10,000, on Wednesday. The accused Rajesh Kumar Tripathi of Kunda tehsil of Pratapgarh had demanded a bribe from the Gram Pradhan of Kashipur Dubki village in exchange for correction of a report of the Gram Sabha. On the complaint of the gram pradhan, the vigilance department had laid a trap against the accused.
A young man and a woman committed suicide by jumping before a train on Wednesday at around 8am near Jorvat village under Shankergarh police station in Prayagraj. Both their bodies were badly mutilated and could not be identified. Police reached the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem.
According to the villagers, at around 8 am on Wednesday, a man in his 30s and a woman in her late 20s were standing near the railway line. Both of them kept talking to each other for some time and suddenly jumped together before a speeding train which arrived on the track. After the accident, local village residents assembled at the site of mishap and informed the police.
On receiving information Shankargarh police reached the spot and sent the badly mutilated bodies for postmortem. As per SHO Shankargarh police station Om Prakash efforts are being made to identify the deceased on the basis of their clothes as no other identification documents like Aadhar card or address proof could be recovered from them.
A 20-year-old, youth was fatally stabbed following a dispute during a wedding ceremony in Jogini village under Karma police station limits in Sonbhadra district, police said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, and the victim later succumbed to his injuries in neighbouring Mirzapur district.
The deceased, identified as Vikas Yadav,20, a resident of Nagnar Haraiya Madhupur in Sonbhadra, was among the baraatis members of the wedding procession. According to police reports, the wedding party had arrived in Jogini village from Nagnar Haraiya when a disagreement broke out between the baraatis and a DJ operator over the selection of songs....
