PRAYAGRAJ, Dec. 6 -- Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya on Friday reviewed the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in trans-Ganga and trans-Yamuna regions in Prayagraj. During a meeting held at the BJP district office, Maurya asserted that no other organisation in the country matches the dedication and nationalistic commitment of BJP workers in strengthening democracy. Appealing to party workers to ensure 100% scrutiny of voter lists at the booth level, he urged them to cooperate in removing fake and underage voters. Maurya said if the SIR process achieved complete cleansing, the BJP will secure victory on all 12 assembly seats in Prayagraj. He further said the BJP is determined to make history by winning more than 325 seats in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly polls. Attacking the opposition, he said they are unnecessarily creating a ruckus over the SIR exercise while attempting to add bogus voters. "After winning a few extra seats in the Lok Sabha polls, the opposition has become arrogant, but now the political ground of fake voters will collapse," he said. Responding to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav's demand for SIR data, the deputy CM said if Akhilesh wanted the information, he should obtain it from the Election Commission. "The SP is rattled by the SIR exercise. They can no longer capture booths, that is why their political future looks bleak," he said....
