GORAKHPUR, Feb. 8 -- Accusing opposition parties of deliberately disrupting Parliament, deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Saturday claimed that their actions stem from frustration over repeated electoral defeats. Stressing the importance of democratic traditions, Maurya said "deliberate disruptions" were hampering crucial discussions and governance. Addressing a gathering of party workers and people after inaugurating a private school building in Kushinagar district, Maurya said the opposition had been repeatedly rejected by people and that their conduct reflected growing desperation. "The SP's and the Congress's return to power is impossible till 2047," he said, highlighting the BJP's expanding support base and strong organisational structure. The deputy chief minister expressed confidence in the BJP's continued political dominance, stating that the opposition parties remained disconnected from the public. Maurya urged party workers to remain active at the grassroots level and strengthen the booth-level organisation, calling it the backbone of electoral success. He added that the BJP government was committed to development, good governance, and public welfare. Highlighting UPs contribution to India's progress, the deputy chief minister said the state was a key driver in making the country stronger and self-reliant. He also said that the UP government was set to launch 'One District, One Dish' canteens across all districts to promote the state's rich culinary heritage and boost local economies. The initiative, Maurya said, would help popularise each district's signature traditional dish, improve branding and sales, and generate new employment opportunities for local cooks, vendors, and small-time entrepreneurs....
