AYODHYA, Jan. 10 -- In the wake of repeated complaints regarding delivery of non-vegetarian food items in the periphery of Ayodhya, the local administration has banned such deliveries by online food platforms in the 15-km radius of Ram temple and along the Panchkosi Parikrama route. Confirming it, assistant food commissioner, Ayodhya, Manik Chandra Singh there were complaints that despite a previously imposed ban on the sale of non-vegetarian food around the Ram temple, it was being served to tourists through online orders. So, the ban was extended to online non-vegetarian food delivery as well, he added. It was reported that some hotels and homestays in Ayodhya were serving non-vegetarian food and liquor to their guests through online orders, Singh said. All hotels, shopkeepers and food delivery platforms were informed of the order, he said, adding continuous monitoring would be done to ensure compliance.
