Online applications for UP-TET 2026 begins from March 27
PRAYAGRAJ, March 21 -- The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP-TET) 2026 online application process will commence from March 27 on the official website https://upessc.up.gov.in/, the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) announced on Friday.
The teacher eligibility examination, being conducted in the state after a gap of four years, is scheduled to be held from July 2 to 4.The last date for registration, application submission, and fee payment is April 26, while corrections in the application form and fee settlement can be done until May 1.
For the convenience of candidates, a One-Time Registration (OTR) system has been implemented. Candidates must complete the OTR process before applying for UP-TET, said UPESSC deputy secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh.
He advised candidates who meet the eligibility criteria to carefully study the guidelines available on the website before applying.The application fee is set at Rs.1,000 per paper for Unreserved, OBC, and EWS candidates; Rs.500 for SC/ST candidates; and Rs.300 for Divyang (physically challenged) candidates.
The UP-TET 2026 is expected to attract over 20 lakh applicants. In the previous UP-TET held on January 21, 2022, a total of 21,65,181 registrations were recorded- 12,91,628 for the Primary level and 8,73,553 for the Upper Primary level.With the examination taking place after five years, a similarly large number of registrations is anticipated.
Additionally, following a Supreme Court order making TET mandatory for teachers appointed under the pre-RTE 2011 provisions, a significant number of council teachers are also expected to apply, potentially increasing the total number of applicants compared to the previous cycle....
