Ongoing gaming: Student enacts own abduction to make up for loss
Agra, Dec. 11 -- Having lost one lakh in online gaming, an under-graduate student planned his own kidnapping and placed a demand of Rs 8 lakh ransom, being aware that his father retiring from the irrigation department would have the money, but the Aligarh police foiled the plan and nabbed him with his friend.
Kamlesh Kumar, circle officer (II), Aligarh, stated that information was attained at Banna Devi police station of Aligarh at 2.45 pm on Tuesday about the kidnapping of Krishna Kumar, a third year student of B Com at Aligarh Muslim University.

Four police teams were constituted and CCTV footage was scanned. A shopkeeper gave a clue that the student had gone with a friend having a beard on a two wheeler. The family was asked about such a friend and the name of Naveen surfaced," stated Kumar.
"The phone of Krishna Kumar was switched off but phone of Naveen was on and his location was traced and he was caught hold of. Naveen gave out the real story and Krishna Kumar was found at a location near Gagan Public School in Aligarh city and the matter was resolved," Kumar said.
The matter was related with a student thus he was allowed to go with his parents who too were counselled, said Kumar, who informed that initially the student had planned to seek only the amount he had lost in online gaming but they thought that asking for one lakh will make 'kidnapping' look fake thus they increased ransom amount to Rs 8 lakh from his retired father....
