Ongoing civic projects in city under review
LUCKNOW, Nov. 2 -- Following public complaints over delays and substandard work, several ongoing construction and development projects across Lucknow have come under close review.
Key sites, including the Aminabad parking facility, CM Grid road construction in Gomti Nagar area and the Haitamau lake rejuvenation project were inspected on Saturday to assess progress and workmanship.
Lucknow municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar conducted the inspections and directed officials concerned to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards. At Aminabad Ghantaghar, Kumar instructed the officials to clear encroachments near the second gate to ensure smooth public movement and emphasised the reuse of construction material to reduce wastage. Taking stock of the CM Grid road construction work in Vibhuti Khand, the commissioner directed engineers to speed up the construction work while maintaining standards, warning that negligence at any level would invite stern action. In Zone 8, the municipal commissioner inspected the Haitamau lake rejuvenation project, assessing progress on the sewage treatment plant, pathway interlocking, and railing work.
Gaurav Kumar asked additional municipal commissioner Pankaj Srivastava and chief engineer Mahesh Verma to expedite the work and resolve land disputes delaying the project.
The inspection concluded at Divyang Park and Sahityik Park in Sushant Golf City, where the commissioner ordered horticulture work to begin immediately to enhance greenery and aesthetics.
Additional workers were also directed to be deployed to ensure timely completion.
