PRAYAGRAJ, April 25 -- A 22-year-old pickup van driver was killed on the spot after his vehicle rammed into the rear of a truck on the Handia-Kokhraj National Highway in Tharwai police station area of Prayagraj around 4 am on Friday. The deceased was identified as Shubham Pal, a resident of Bhairopur in Sirathu. The collision was so severe that the van was badly mangled and the driver's body became trapped inside the wreckage. On receiving information, Thanapur police outpost in-charge Amar Dev Singh reached the spot. With the help of NHAI personnel, the body was pulled out after nearly two hours of strenuous effort. The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. Police suspect the accident occurred after the van driver dozed off at the wheel....
