One held for stealing Rs.50k, setting saree shop afire
VARANASI, Dec. 28 -- One of the two thieves, who allegedly broke into a saree shop, stole Rs.50,000 before setting it on fire in Kunj Gali, Brahmanaal, here on Tuesday (December 23), was arrested from a village in Chandauli on Saturday, police said.
A police officer said a complaint in this regard was received. Assistant commissioner of police, Dashashwamedh, Atul Anjan Tripathi said a case was registered on the basis of the complaint. An investigation revealed involvement of Radhe Yadav, a resident of Satpokhari, who was subsequently arrested from his village in Mughalsarai area.
Tripathi said during interrogation, the accused confessed to committing the theft and arson with Jitendra Yadav. He said his brother and he worked at the shop. After the theft, they set the shop on fire and fled. Rs.34,000 and a mobile phone were recovered from the accused. htc...
