Prayagraj, March 16 -- Police on Sunday arrested one of the five accused involved in an attack on a police team that had reached a village in connection with a dispute between two groups in Pratapgarh district. The incident took place on March 13. Police said raids are being conducted to arrest the remaining accused. According to police, tension had been building for several days between two groups in Deori Hardo Patti village under the Baghrai police station area over a land dispute. On the night of March 13, at around 8pm, the disagreement turned into a violent clash between the two sides. After receiving information, a Police Response Vehicle (PRV) team reached the spot. However, members of the agitated groups began arguing with the police and started pelting bricks and stones. The windows of the PRV vehicle were damaged in the attack. On the complaint of PRV constable Satyadev Maurya, a case was registered against five people under relevant sections of the law. Police said the accused had been on the run. On Sunday, Sakardaha outpost in-charge Devi Dayal Kashyap arrested one of the accused, Arun Kumar, near the Ganga Expressway road. After completing legal formalities, he was sent to jail.
