One dead in house collapse as stored crackers go off
Agra, Nov. 11 -- A 55-year-old resident of village Hewatpur Karkha, within the limits of Nasirpur police station of Firozabad district, died after crackers stored in his house exploded causing the roof to collapse on Monday. The deceased was manufacturing big size crackers used during wedding processions.
Superintendent of police (rural), Firozabad, Anuj Chaudhary, said on Monday,
"The deceased, Jallaluddin alias Pappu (55), was engaged in manufacturing crackers used during barat processions.
The explosion was caused by the crackers stored in the house and was so intense that the roof of the house collapsed, trapping the deceased under the debris," Chaudhary said.
"Fortunately, there was no damage to nearby houses and there is only one death in the case.
The body has been sent to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination and legal compliance is being undertaken," Chaudhary said....
