PRAYAGRAJ, July 11 -- One person was killed and three others sustained injuries in a road accident involving an unknown vehicle and a pickup van in Rahimpatti village on the Kokhraj-Handia Highway under Utraon police station, late Wednesday night. According to reports, the victims were returning to Pratapgarh after selling fruits in Varanasi. The pickup was carrying Santu Sonkar ,40, his brother Mithlesh Sonkar, cousin Rahul Sonkar, and the driver, Atiq. Around a kilometre from the Handia toll plaza, their vehicle collided with an unidentified vehicle. Santu Sonkar, a resident of Vijaymau Fulwaria under Sangramgarh police station in Pratapgarh district, died on the spot. The other three sustained serious injuries. SHO of Utraon police station, Pankaj Tripathi, who was on night patrol, reached the spot and rushed the injured to the Handia Community Health Centre. Due to their condition, they were later referred to the district hospital. The police have sent the body for post-mortem after completing legal formalities....
