Om Yadav wins a golden double
LUCKNOW, Dec. 22 -- Young Om Yadav delivered a stellar performance at the 23rd Eldeco Cup Prize Money Tennis Tournament, clinching two titles, at the La Martiniere Lawn Tennis Facility here on Sunday.
Om won the men's singles final when his opponent, Anuruddh, retired due to a shoulder strain. At that point, Om was leading 5-0. In the men's doubles final, while pairing with Varun, Om defeated the duo of Anuj and Anuruddh 8-3 to claim the trophy. Anuruddh played in this match after recovering from his strain.
In the under-10 boys' singles, Avyaan Jain won the title, defeating Kiyan Mulchandani 4-1 in the final. In the under-12 boys' final, Ayan Pandey emerged as the champion, defeating Naitvik Singh in a tie-break 7-5 (4-3). In the under-12 girls' category, Anya Chaudhary won the title by defeating Advita Abhi Kumar 4-2.
Rishi Khanna emerged overall winner in the CII UP Golf Tournament, at the Lucknow Golf Club here on Sunday. Other winners in different categories, included Bharat Thapar, Siddharth Ahuja, Elakshi Dhaon Rathore, Karmanya Dutt Tewari, Tabish Ahmad, Pranaya Bhandari, Rakesh Seth, MC Dwivedi, YK Goel.
