Officials told to expedite CM-announced projects
Dehradun, Nov. 11 -- Uttarakhand chief secretary Anand Bardhan on Monday directed officials to proactively monitor and expedite the implementation of announcements made by the chief minister recently.
The instructions were issued during a review meeting of the chief minister's announcements held under Bardhan's chairmanship at the secretariat in Dehradun.
The chief secretary directed all concerned secretaries, heads of departments, and district magistrates to submit separate details of announcements that have been completed, those currently under implementation, and those that have not yet been initiated due to specific issues.
He also asked for separate information on all announcements made on the occasions of Republic Day, Independence Day, and State Foundation Day.
Bardhan said that details regarding the physical and financial progress of ongoing announcements should be submitted within three days.
For those announcements that have not yet been implemented due to administrative, technical, or land-related issues, departments must submit a report within seven days, citing reasons for the delay and proposed solutions, he said.
He directed that a comprehensive list of the chief minister's announcements be prepared, with priority given to those that are easily implementable.
Departments and district magistrates were instructed to send immediate proposals for such announcements to ensure timely execution of the work.
For announcements where hurdles persist, Bardhan directed that the nature of the issue be clearly explained and resolved at the departmental level. In cases where resolution is not possible, the matter should be escalated to his level for direct intervention, he said.
The chief secretary also instructed secretary SN Pandey to set up an effective monitoring mechanism to ensure regular tracking and faster completion of the chief minister's announcements.
He emphasised the need for accountability and directed that departments lagging in progress be notified and their performance reviewed through regular monitoring.
According to official figures, out of 3,575 announcements made by the chief minister, 2,215 have been completed, work is in progress on 777, while 583 remain pending.
