VARANASI, July 31 -- Uttar Pradesh chief secretary Manoj Kumar Singh on Wednesday directed officials from various departments to ensure foolproof arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed visit to Kashi on August 2, warning them against any form of negligence. The chief secretary, along with director general of police (DGP) Rajiv Krishna, chaired a virtual meeting to review preparations for the visit. Divisional commissioner S Rajalingam and commissioner of police Mohit Agarwal briefed the chief secretary and the DGP about the proposed programmes and the measures taken so far. Singh directed officials to ensure tight security arrangements, implement traffic diversions, and maintain public convenience during the PM's visit. Municipal corporation officials were instructed to conduct a cleanliness drive, while departments concerned were asked to make adequate arrangements for drinking water and mobile toilets at key locations....
