Nylon manjha slits bike rider's throat, wife & child suffer injuries
LUCKNOW, March 19 -- The menace of banned nylon manja (chinese manjha) returned after a biker suffered grievous injuries in the Aliganj area on Wednesday.
The incident occurred near Purnia bridge, where a man riding a motorcycle with his wife and child, was returning home after buying notebooks for the child. As they approached the stretch, the bike ran into a loose strand of alleged Chinese manja.
The string slit the rider's throat, leaving him critically injured, while one of his ears was nearly severed. He also reportedly sustained a fracture in his leg. Following the injuries, the bike went out of control and rammed into an electric pole by the roadside.
The rider's wife and child were thrown off and suffered injuries. Locals rushed to help and transported the injured to a nearby hospital on a rickshaw before informing the police.
Police said similar incidents involving Chinese manja have been reported from the Purnia bridge stretch. There have been over 15 such incidents in city after the banned manjha took life of Md Shoaib, a medical representative in Bazarkhala area of city in the month of February....
