LUCKNOW, Nov. 11 -- Students associated with the National Student Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Congress, on Monday organised a signature campaign against 'vote rigging', in which students at Lucknow University signed in solidarity. During the campaign, a police force was deployed by the university. Students also raised slogans of "Chor Gaddi Chhodo" (Thieves, leave the chair). The NSUI-associated students alleged that the ruling party and the Election Commission were hand in glove. Prince Prakash, national coordinator NSUI, claimed: "Vote theft is not only compromising the independence of the Election Commission but puts into question the credibility of democracy practised in India which would have catastrophic consequences for the country's future."...
