Now, Hindi papers for high school & inter to be held in separate shifts
PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 13 -- The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) has updated its high school and intermediate exams-2026 timetable, deciding to hold the high school Hindi and intermediate general Hindi examinations in separate shifts, officials said.
Earlier, both exams were scheduled for the morning of February 18, 2026, the first day of board exams, but with over 43 lakh candidates, the arrangement raised logistical concerns.
UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh said the revised timetable, now available on the official website, addresses these challenges.
Under the new schedule, high school Hindi and elementary Hindi will be conducted in the morning shift on February 18, while intermediate Hindi and general Hindi will take place in the afternoon.
The board has also rescheduled the intermediate Sanskrit exam to March 12, 2026, in the second shift, replacing the earlier plan to hold it on February 20 alongside intermediate English.
The changes provide relief to approximately 27.5 lakh high school and 24.7 lakh intermediate students, along with school principals, who had raised concerns over managing simultaneous exams....
