Notices served to six coaching centres; given 3 days for compliance
PRAYAGRAJ, June 7 -- Fire safety standards are not being followed in many of the coaching institutes running across Sangam city. Now the fire department has started a campaign against such coaching institutes which seem least concerned about the risks involved in such circumstances.
As part of the initiative, more than a dozen coaching institutes of the city were inspected under the leadership of chief fire officer (CFO)-Prayagraj on Thursday.
Six coaching institutes were served notice and warned to undertake steps to comply with various fire safety norms found deficient in their respective centres within the next three days.CFO RK Pandey said that during the surprise inspection, legal notice has been served to Exampur Coaching Centre, Gyan Ganga Coaching Centre, Climax Coaching Centre, Chandra Coaching Centre, Target Coaching Centre and Sandesh Academy under the Uttar Pradesh Fire and Emergency Services Act-2022.
If the proposed fire safety arrangement as required is not completed in the next three days as per the instructions of the National Building Code of India 2016, then further action will be taken and the centres will be sealed, he said.
The CFO shared that the campaign will continue for a week.
The inspection team included ACP (Colonelganj) Rajiv Yadav and fire safety officer (FSO) Rajesh Kumar among others.
