LUCKNOW, Nov. 16 -- A notice was on Saturday issued to an gynaecologist posted at Gosainganj community health centre (CHC) here after an incident wherein a gauze pad was allegedly left inside a woman's uterus during a caesarean section in September this year came to fore. "The doctor is ill and on emergency leave. A notice has been issued to her seeking an explanation," said Gosainganj CHC superintendent Dr Suresh Chandra Pandey. "The patient's husband had filed a complaint at Gosainganj police station in this regard on Friday. He also lodged a complaint on the CM's Jansunwai Samadhan portal," Dr Pandey added. The patient's husband also wrote to the CM seeking justice. As per reports, one Ratnesh Singh of Begariyamao village got his pregnant wife Sonia admitted to Gosainganj CHC on September 22 after she went into labour. The lady doctor there performed the operation the same day. According to Singh, his wife's condition deteriorated shortly after surgery and she was referred to Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences's (RMLIMS) maternal and child hospital where she stayed for about five days. Ten days later, when the woman's family took her back to Gosainganj CHC after she developed some problem, the doctor allegedly refused treatment.
