Not staff, man takes wife for X-ray on stretcher; son assists
Jhansi, May 14 -- A woman brought to Maharani Laxmibai Medical College here for urgent care was allegedly taken to the radiology department for an X-ray in a stretcher by her husband and her minor son in the absence of the hospital's support staff.
A video, purportedly of the incident that was said to be a couple of days old, on social media shows her husband pulling the stretcher while her 9-year-old son can be seen lifting the blood bag.
Taking cognisance of the video, the medical college authorities have terminated the services of an outsourced ward boy and a nurse, withheld the salaries of two other staff nurses, and suspended another ward boy.
The woman, identified as Shakuntala Devi hailed from Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur, was admitted here for some critical intestinal ailments. She also suffered from anaemia, thus the blood transfusion.
In the absence of the support staff, her husband Raju was asked to pull the stretcher to the radiology department.
Commenting on the issue, principal Dr Mayank Singh said, "A ward boy has been suspended, the services of two outsourced employees has been terminated, a show-cause notice has been issued to two nursing staff and their salaries withheld."...
