New Delhi, Dec. 1 -- It is likely to get colder, with a 2-3 degree C fall in minimum temperature expected over the next two days over northwest and east India, India Meteorological Department has warned. Minimum temperatures are in the range of less than 6 degree C at many places over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-GilgitBaltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh; at isolated places over Punjab; in the range of 6-10 degree C at many places over Uttarakhand, Haryana Chandigarh, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh; and at isolated places over north Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh. The lowest minimum temperature of 2 degree C is reported at Faridkot (Punjab) over the plains of India on Saturday, according to IMD. Minimum temperatures are also expected to fall by 3-4 degree C over northeast India in the next 3 days. There is also likely to be a fall in minimum temperature by 2-3 degree C over Gujarat for the next 4 days and thereafter no large change. IMD has warned of dense fog conditions likely to prevail during early morning hours in isolated pockets of Manipur, Odisha on December 1, over Himachal Pradesh during December 1 to 3. Cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets of Madhya Maharashtra, Punjab during December 1 to 3, Marathawada on December 2 and 3, East Rajasthan during December 4 and 7. Meanwhile, cyclone Ditwah over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry is likely to cause isolated extremely heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh on Sunday and Monday and heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places likely over Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana also till Monday. On Sunday, cyclone Ditwah lay centered over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Sri Lanka moved nearly northwards and over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts. It continues to move nearly northward. On Sunday afternoon, it was about 100 km east-southeast of Cuddalore (India), 100 km east-northeast of Karaikal (India), 110 km southeast of Puducherry (India), 140 km northeast of Vedaranniyam (India) and 180 km south-southeast of Chennai (India).
