North Delhi register second win of DPL 2
New Delhi, Aug. 8 -- North Delhi Strikers earned their second win of the DPL season 2 as they defeated Outer Delhi Warriorz by 19 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday. Sarthak Ranjan (77) and Vaibhav Kandpal (38) stitched a 115-run opening partnership for Strikers before Kamal Bairwa (2/37) and Harsh Tyagi (2/19) halted their middle-order from carrying on the momentum. Arjun Rapria (17*) was the only other batter who got into double digits to help Strikers post 163/7.
However, Warriors were unable to chase the total down with only Sanat Sangwan (32) and Keshav Dabas (40) making significant contributions. Kuldip Yadav and Vikas Dixit picked up three wickets apiece for Strikers.
Earlier in the day, East Delhi Riders defeated New Delhi Tigers by 7 wickets. Chasing 173, the Riders reached the target in 18.2 overs, thanks to a composed 63* from Arpit Rana with support from Sujal Singh (26) and a blistering cameo by Hardik Sharma (30 off 12). Captain Anuj Rawat (16) and Mayank Rawat (32*) kept the momentum alive, sealing victory with 10 balls to spare.
Earlier, New Delhi Tigers posted 172/6 driven by a late flourish from Deepak Punia (41 off 15) and Aryan Dalal (31*). Shivam Gupta laid the foundation with 38, while captain Himmat Singh chipped in with 24 runs and two wickets. For the Riders, Rounak Waghela starred with the ball, claiming 3/18. Despite Tigers' strong finish, East Delhi's batting proved too strong....
