Noida-like city being planned in Bundelkhand: CS
Lucknow, June 11 -- Chief secretary Manoj Kumar Singh on Tuesday said that plans were underway to develop a Noida-like city in Bundelkhand, further decentralising growth and boosting regional development.
Singh was speaking at the conclave organised by Invest UP on the Global Capability Centres Policy, 2024, aimed at attracting investments.
Invest UP showcased the state's investor-friendly policies that have created modern infrastructure, proactive governance, a robust industrial and economic ecosystem in the state, on Tuesday.
Around 20 companies participated in the conclave. Several companies pledged to invest in Global Capability Centres in the state in the coming months.
Addressing the gathering, the chief secretary encouraged stakeholders to contribute suggestions for continuous policy improvement.
"Few global economies possess the potential to double their size in such a short span like Uttar Pradesh has been able to achieve. By strengthening the agriculture sector, we can further multiply the state's GDP and ensure inclusive, sustainable growth," he remarked.
During the conclave, discussions focused on four key areas: real estate and commercial space, including CREDAI and building bye-laws; availability of a skilled talent pool supported by quality colleges and technical institutes; the overall ecosystem; and creditable improvement in infrastructure across the state.
Alok Kumar, principal secretary, infrastructure & industrial development, emphasised that a 'Viksit Bharat' is only possible through a 'Viksit State.'
Kumar underscored the state's demographic strength, cost advantage, and ease of doing business, making it a preferred destination for industries.
