Nod to new rly line survey to boost connectivity in Terai region
LUCKNOW, July 18 -- The ministry of railways has approved a final location survey (FLS) for a new 120-km, broad-gauge railway line between Bhira Kheri and Raibojha, aimed at enhancing connectivity between Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich and Kheri districts. Alongside the new line, two existing meter-gauge sections - Mailani to Bhira Kheri (16 km) and Nanpara to Raibojha (13 km) - will also be converted into broad gauge. "With an approved cost of Rs.3.58 crore, the project will include the preparation of a detailed project report (DPR), laying the groundwork for integrating the Mailani-Nanpara stretch into India's broad gauge railway network," read a Railway press note.
