No Sparsh Darshan at Kashi Vishwanath till January 3
VARANASI, Dec. 27 -- Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple administration has suspended Sparsh Darshan (touch darshan) facility till January 3 in view of heavy crowds of devotees at the temple. Now, only Jhanki Darshan will be allowed. Jhanki Darshan is an arrangement in which the devotees see Baba Kashi Vishwanath from the gate of sanctum sanctorum of the Kashi Vishwanath temple. The decision was taken by Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust after over one lakh devotees offered prayers at the temple on Wednesday.
Kashi Vishwanath Temple's chief executive officer Vishwabhushan Mishra said,"There has been an unprecedented increase in the number of devotees since December 24 in view of winter vacation. Because of that, it is not possible to accept the request for special darshan."
Sparsh darshan protocol or special darshan arrangements have been suspended till January 3, said the CEO adding Jhanki Darshan arrangements will remain in effect until January 3, 2026....
