No birthday celebrations, will work for disaster-hit: CM
Dehradun, Sept. 16 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday announced that he will not hold any celebrations or formal events on his birthday on September 16, and instead will dedicate the day to service and support for disaster-affected families in Uttarakhand.
Dhami said true celebration lies in serving society and the needy.
"I have decided that my birthday will be observed with simplicity. The day will be devoted to helping disaster-affected families and the general public in the state. In many districts, people are facing extremely difficult circumstances after recent disasters. At such times, every section of society should come forward to support them. Even small efforts can become a source of strength and hope for the affected families," he said.
The chief minister urged citizens to channel their energies into constructive work such as Swachhata Abhiyan (cleanliness drives), tree plantation, educational support and disaster relief activities.
Such initiatives, the chief minister said, can bring about a positive change in society and embody the values of service and sacrifice.
"The spirit of service is the true identity of Uttarakhand. If every citizen works with this spirit, the state will draw strength and new energy in every field," Dhami said....
