Agra, Aug. 14 -- Nine natives of village Asroli within limits of Kotwali police station of Etah district and two from Firozabad district died in a tragic accident in Dausa district of Rajasthan in the wee hours of Wednesday. Eleven people were killed in the accident after a pick-up van carrying devotees collided with a truck. Among the deceased were seven kids and four women. A woman and her niece from Firozabad were among the deceased. Dausa SP Sagar Rana said, "The victims, hailing from Etah and Firozabad districts of Uttar Pradesh, were returning from Khatu Shyam temple. Around 45 devotees from Asrauli village had travelled in two pickups for the pilgrimage. The mishap involved one vehicle which was carrying over 22 passengers, mostly women and children." Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed condolences to the families of the deceased. "Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath expresses grief over the road accident in Dausa, Rajasthan. He expresses condolences to the families of the deceased and wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured," UP CMO said in a statement. "We got information about the tragic accident that occurred within the limits of Dausa district of Rajasthan at about 3am. In all, 42 from this village had gone for 'darshan' at a renowned Khatu Shyam temple in Rajasthan in a pick-up van," said the Etah district magistrate Prem Ranjan Singh. "We are in touch with the district magistrate at Dausa (Rajasthan) and the bodies will be brought here after formalities, including post mortem in Dausa. Cremation will be a responsibility of the district administration. We are also keeping an eye on the treatment being imparted to the injured and a team from Etah has reached Dausa," he said. The accident took place on Manoharpur state highway within Dausa district of Rajasthan when a pick-up van collided with a truck. Eleven were killed while out of 12 injured, eight are undergoing treatment at SMS Jaipur and 4 at district hospital in Dausa, said officials in Etah. Lakhan Singh, a resident of village Asroli lost his daughter in law Seema, granddaughters Babu (3) and Mishthi (1), and daughter Sonam in the accident....
