Nightclub dispute turns into violent street clash
LUCKNOW, April 29 -- A dispute at a Lucknow nightclub early Tuesday morning spiralled into a chaotic street brawl that left multiple people nursing injuries.
The clash has drawn police attention, viral social media videos, plus cross-complaints from both groups involved.
Police said they received information about a fight between two parties at Cyber Heights in the Vibhuti Khand police station area. According to police, the incident began around 1.30 am at a club under Summit police outpost limits.
Shivendra Singh, a resident of Rae Bareli currently living on rent in Indira Nagar, had come to the club with friends including Varun Kashyap, when an argument broke out with another youth identified as Vishal. "Vishal allegedly attacked members of Shivendra's group with a knife plus fork, injuring several people inside the club."
The woman accompanying Vishal's group presented a different version. She accused Shivendra's friends of molestation, claiming she was inappropriately touched inside the premises. She said Vishal stepped in to defend her, only to be attacked with a beer bottle afterwards. Police said the situation briefly calmed inside the club. Tensions reignited when Vishal's group was leaving.
"They were allegedly pulled out of the lift by members of the rival group, following which the clash resumed plus spilled onto the road," said station house officer (SHO) Amar Singh....
