LUCKNOW, Nov. 15 -- The minimum temperature is likely to remain three to five degrees Celsius below normal on an average, and at some places, it may go below 10degC. "There is a possibility of partial cold wave conditions late night/early morning in the next 2 to 3 days but its effect is likely to end due to sunshine during the day, although during this period, the maximum day temperature in the state is also likely to remain 1 to 4degC below the normal," said Atul Kumar Singh, a senior scientist at Lucknow Met office, on Friday. The combined effect of cold and dry Northwesterly Winds coming from the western Himalayan regions, increased radiation cooling due to clear skies, and the downward movement of cold winds caused a significant drop in the temperature across the state, said Singh. In Lucknow, day and night temperatures were recorded at 27.9 and 11.4 degrees Celsius and both were marginally below normal, on Friday. The forecast for Saturday is mist in the morning and clear sky later. The day and night temperature will be around 28 and 11 degrees Celsius, respectively on Saturday. Kanpur city recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 8 degrees Celsius which was 5.4 degrees below normal. Etawah was 8.4 degrees Celsius which was 5.1 degrees below normal, Bareilly 9.2 (5.5 degree below normal) and Barabanki 9.6 degrees Celsius (4.8 degree.
