LUCKNOW, Dec. 8 -- As a massive construction work is underway on the Kanpur-Lucknow Highway (NH-27), Lucknow Traffic Police enforced strict diversions for heavy vehicles, causing significant changes in traffic movement across the southern outskirts of the city. According to a statement issued on Saturday, the PNC company is carrying out multiple construction and repair interventions between Naderganj and Junabganj in the Banthra and Sarojininagar police station limits. Heavy and small machinery has been deployed at several points, forcing traffic authorities to operate vehicles in a single lane over extended stretches. Officials said that only light vehicles can safely pass through these single-lane corridors, while heavy vehicles have been completely diverted until the ongoing work is completed. "The road capacity in these patches allows movement of only light traffic. Considering safety and congestion, heavy vehicles have been barred from entering the affected zones."
